DVD Duplication/replication FAQ
DVD Duplication or DVD Replication which one should I choose?
We’re not going to baffle you with science, or bore you with details. The simplest way to describe the difference between the two is:
DVD Duplication is perfect for low run quantities, for example, you only need 100 DVDs made. If that’s the case, and you need a quick turnaround, this is your best option.
DVD Replication is ideal for higher runs, say 500 units upwards, it can be more cost effective, the process is longer, but it can save you money in the long run.
How do I get my DVD artwork to you?
A member of the team will be on hand to guide you through the process. Depending on which packaging option you go for, you’ll be sent a template and guidelines, they’ll be on hand if you get stuck at any point.

The main advantage is reduced cost, as with anything the more you buy, the lower the price.

It takes 10-12 days to replicate your DVD. With plenty of options available to you.
Choose your disc type, DVD5, DVD9 whether it’s ROM or video.
We also have a multitude of print & packaging options available to you, decide what’s best for your end product.

Minimum order quantity for DVD replication
Our DVD replication service starts from 300 units. If you need less than this, then consider DVD duplication.
DVD print only service
Don’t need duplication/replication, just need print on the disc itself, we have you covered. Choose print only from the quote form!
Our DVD Duplication process
All DVD’s duplicated by Media Plant utilise high-end quality discs, we do not use cheap DVDs that will not play.
Be careful when choosing a DVD duplicator, remember a cheap DVD duplication quote is not always the best option for your needs.
Sub-par results and a DVD that looks like you may as well have done it yourself on a low-end DVD printer. You don’t want that, do you?

DVD Packaging need not be boring. In fact, there are endless options available for your newly created DVD, so many in fact the this page would read like war and peace!
DVD Duplication turnaround times
Companies often use our DVD Duplication service for the creation of short & feature-length films, promos, data, games and more.
As we duplicate digital versatile discs or DVDs in-house, you can receive your DVDs copied, printed and packaged quickly and within 3-5 days!
*Please note turnaround times can be affected on packaging type requested, don’t worry a member of the team will advise if it does impact lead times.

Blu-ray Duplication/replication FAQ
Blu-ray Disc V’s DVD
Blu-ray discs have massive storage capacity compared to standard DVD discs and as such can store up to an astonishing 50GB of data.
As we have already established Blu-Ray has plenty more storage than a DVD.
How do I get my Blu-ray artwork to you?
We have a number of ways for you to get your newly created artwork for the on-body print and the Blu-ray cover.
A member of the team will be on hand to help you with the process.
Blu-ray Storage Capacity
A standard Blu-ray disc can hold 25 GBs worth of data (known as a BD 25) like DVD there is a higher capacity version (a BD 50) which will contain 50 GBs worth of data.
AACS Licences for Blu-Ray replication
The AACS (Advanced Access Content System) is part of the Blu-ray standard and is mandatory.
If AACS is confusing for you or you would like advice on t you can always get in touch with us. We can help you get through the motions and get your Blu-ray product out there to the masses.

Blu-ray Replication turnaround times
All of our Blu-ray projects, our replicated from your master content. From the point of your Blu-ray artwork being approved and of course your content, be it an HD film or data the turnaround time will be 12-15 working days.
Minimum order quantity for Blu-ray replication
Our Blu-ray replication service starts from 500 units. If you need less than this, then consider Blu-ray duplication.
Blu-ray print service
Don’t need duplication/replication, just need print on the disc itself, we have you covered. Choose print only from the quote form!
Blu-ray visual resolution
Standard Blu-ray output is 1920 X 1080 for PAL (UK compatible Blu-rays)
How do I get my Blu-ray content to you?
We have multiple methods available. From FTP, WeTransfer and of course you could always send us a physical Blu-ray to duplicate from.

This duplication service is geared towards those who do not need 1000’s upon 1000’s of Blu-rays created. They just need an amount for a specific purpose, be it a short film or a large data disc.
